Jim McKenzie : West Coast Realist
Location: Mayne Island, British Columbia, Canada
I have worked as an artist since my graduation from the Fine Art Programme at the University of British Columbia in 1975. I paint from my own photographs of my own personal experience.
Painters who have influenced me are Canadians Jack Chambers, Alex Colville, Christopher Pratt, Ken Danby and E. J. Hughes and, of course, those of the 1970's International Hyper-Realist movement.
